According to church records, Pierre died at the age 54, on 14 Nov. 1646 in La Rochelle (now Charente-Maritime), Aunis, France. If that age is correct, his year of birth would be about 1592.
According to son Joachim's baptismal record, dated November 8, 1637, Pierre Reguindeau's first wife Andree Martineaux, is listed as the mother.
First wife, Andree Martineaux, (Joachim's biological mother) died/buried 06 April 1643 in La Rochelle, Charente, Poitou-Charentes, France, when Joachim was about 6 years old.
On 28 Aug 1644, Pierre Reguindeau married widow Marie Martin.
They were married about 2 years when Pierre Reguindeau died, leaving Marie alone with a large family, including Joachim and children from her previous marriage. She married again to a certain Clarteaux (no records found), and thus the name Marie Clarteaux.
Marie raised Joachim to adulthood, so in later life, when Joachim was asked about his parents, he cited the only mother he knew as a child, when he referred to Marie Clarteaux, who in actuality was his stepmother.
